Why does DSK close?- DSK closes if the road conditions caused by weather are too dangerous to drive.These road conditions range from black ice to white-outs.

What steps does DSK take to determine closure? - Closure is determined by the Drive Safe Kalamazoo Chairperson and Director in Charge for that night. Road & weather conditions are monitoried throughout the day. Also, Drive Safe Kalamazoo consults Western Michigan University Public Safety and Kalamazoo Public Safety.
- The safety of DSK's members and patrons come first; if road conditions are too dangerous, DSK will not operate.
